Focus Change

One of the biggest changes in iOS 15 is the ability to change the user's Focus from the Control Center. This is a powerful feature with lots of options and customizations.

A powerful new set of tools gives users more control over how to prioritize time and attention. So users can find balance and stay focused on whatever you're doing.

If previously the user is familiar with the "Do Not Disturb" mode to silence unwanted notifications. If the user still wants to use "moon mode" with iOS 15, the user does not need to change anything.

On iOs 15 users can also create additional Focuses. By default, Apple suggests several Focuses such as Work, Sleep, Driving, Fitness, Gaming, Mindfulness, Personal, and Reading. Each Focus can be customized to the user's needs and the user can create a new Focus from scratch.

When a user activates a certain Focus, it basically blocks notifications by default. Users can select only certain people and apps so that notifications from those people and apps stay in.

App Refresh

With iOS 15, Apple improved almost all of its early apps. The Safari browser design has also been updated. By default, the address bar is now at the bottom of the screen, just above the row of buttons that allow users to bookmark, share the current page, or go to the previous page.

Apart from that, the Safari update is pretty good, now the browser supports traditional web extensions. It will be interesting to see if the popular Google Chrome extension finally comes to Safari. Another nifty new feature is the ability to create tab groups and find user tab groups from other users' devices.

FaceTime is also a versatile video conferencing service. Now users can create links, share them with friends, and add them to calendar invites. For the first time, people who don't have an Apple device will be able to join FaceTime calls from a web browser.

The Weather app has also been redesigned. This time it's packed with more information like rainfall maps, next hour rainfall notifications and a new UV index. It has become a powerful alternative to third-party weather apps.

Messages or messaging is now more integrated with other Apple applications. Whenever someone sends a user an article, photo album, podcast, or song, you'll see those recommendations in other Apple apps like Apple News, Photos, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Music.

Apple Maps has also been improved to give users a new experience of viewing cities with detailed roads, neighborhoods, trees, buildings, and more. Users can visit important locations in 3D, such as the Golden Gate Bridge in day and dark mode maps, as quoted from Apple's official website.

Apart from that, the app has also been redesigned with new place cards, a new driving user interface, and in-app settings. Photos also received many improvements. This time the user will get more information if he takes a photo, such as the shutter speed and the lens used.

The biggest change to the photo gallery is that users can search for text within photos. iOS will scan the user's photos for text and save them for Spotlight searches.

Not only that, this time the user can point the camera at the text and select the text from there. This feature allows you to read text on photos and copy them without having to retype them.
