Instagram Develops Favorite Features, Here's How It Works

In order to provide convenience for its users, Instagram is constantly providing updates and feature adjustments. One of them, Instagram is developing its newest feature called Favorite.

This Favorite feature will make the content that users like will be at the top of the main page. Launching The Verge, Alessandro Paluzzi was the one who first came up with the idea of making this Favorite feature. He then announced it via his Twitter account.

Later, users can enter their preferred account into the Favorites feature. Uploads from these accounts will be at the top of the main Instagram page.

Selected users can view this Favorite feature under Close Friends. Currently, the order of content that enters the main Instagram page is based on the most recent uploads and the accounts that users interact with frequently.

The algorithm has a weakness, namely that it is possible that the upload is not what the user wants to see. It is not yet clear whether this feature will be released in the future. However, in 2017, Instagram tested the Favorite feature, but in a different form.

In the same year, through the Favorites feature, users could limit who could view the content. Instagram finally in 2018 launched the Close Friends feature, where only certain people can see the upload.
