Lost your smartphone? Don't panic first, but lock it immediately by using the Android Device Manager feature. Android Device Manager itself is a feature created by Google to help track the whereabouts of your cellphone, or make it ring, so you can lock it remotely.

Before using the Android Device Manager feature, you must first activate it, by opening the settings menu and then entering the security menu. Scroll down until you find the Device Administrator option, click on the Device Administrator option and make sure that the Android Device Manager has a checkmark indicating that the feature is enabled.


If the Android Device Manager feature is active, then you can follow the steps to lock a lost cellphone below:


  • Open the official Android Device Manager website via a browser on your laptop or pc
  • Then log in using the same Google account as the username and password you used on the lost cellphone
  • Then you will see information about the icon and type of cellphone that is currently connected to the gmail account, besides that you can also see a description of the time, distance and location of the lost cellphone usage.
  • Next, click on the lock menu option
  • Then create a password according to your wishes and click the lock option at the bottom
  • If the process has been successful, a notification will appear and your cellphone will automatically be locked
